Caro Home Supports Swim Across America – Fairfield County

This October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Caro Home is supporting breast cancer awareness and research into other women's cancers. 15% of sales of every pink item in our Pink October collection goes to the nonprofit Swim Across America – Fairfield County, helping raise funds for innovative cancer research.

Swim Across America – Fairfield County supports groundbreaking cancer research locally through its beneficiary Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), including the work of Joseph Fraietta, PhD, an ACGT Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Fraietta is developing a promising new approach to treating ovarian cancer, the deadliest gynecologic cancer. His research combines advanced immunotherapy strategies designed to help the immune system better penetrate tumors, recognize cancer cells and create a stronger, longer-lasting response. His goal is to develop more durable and less burdensome treatments for women facing ovarian cancer, particularly those with treatment-resistant disease.
